We provide connections to build capacity within the community to serve its own needs. Thanks to the Child & Family Services Association (CFSA), who provide funding through the Community Building Initiative on an annual basis, we work to create partnerships with local agencies and organizations in order to achieve positive outcomes to goals of the program. The CBI funding is based on the priorities of the CFSA – Aboriginal Services, Family Violence and Bullying, Family Supports for Children with Disabilities and Early Learning and Child Care. In 2009, we will focus on:

• identifying gaps in services for families and children including youth at risk, foster care needs and respite care
• developing partnerships that support and improve the sustainability of the community based playschool
• increasing the awareness of child care providers in the community
• increasing the awareness of the need for child care spaces in the community
