  Community Access Program

Providing public access to computers and the internet, as well as basic Computer and Internet tutorials.

Community Access Program (CAP) is an Industry Canada initiative providing funding to rural communities to provide free computer and Internet access to all Canadians. The program provided the Learning Centre with funding in 1998 to establish our original computer lab which houses 8 stations and 2 public access stations, making us the CAP site in Hanna.

Industry Canada provides ongoing funding to employ 2 CAP interns per year for continual availability for help on the public access computers. This is a Government of Canada, Youth Employment Program which enables individuals' age 15-30 years of age to work, train and gain employment skills.

The goal of the Hanna CAP is to offer totally FREE internet access to all Canadians for a variety of purposes including:

- Job search
- Planning your career
- Resume building
- Distance learning
- Academic assistance
- Web page design information
- Researching post secondary information
- Sending and receiving e-mails
.. And much, much more!

In addition to serving Career clients, some of the individuals accessing the computers and internet include: seniors, business operators, students, guests visiting Hanna, residents completing research and potential entrepreneurs.
