“Because Earlier Is Better”

Autumn 2010 Early Intervention Workshop Series
Presented by Big Country Outreach Program (BCOP)
Early motor development for sitting upright, walking, picking up objects, and holding toys is an important stepping stone to later developmental success. As well, the early years are known to be critical in laying the foundation for later life successes in such areas such as literacy, healthy living, and independence in life. Research consistently proves the value to families of providing services earlier as well as demonstrating significant savings to the health and education systems.
BCOP is offering a FREE workshop series to professionals and community supports working with children three years of age and younger. These workshops will be held at the Drumheller Health Centre from 4:30 to 6:30 and participants are encouraged to bring a “bagged supper”. All participants will receive a certificate of attendance for continuing professional development. Space is limited, so if interested please register for one or all of the workshops by phoning BCOP at 403-820-7991. Participation via telehealth may be considered. If interested in participation via telehealth please contact John Serkiz at 403-820-7260.
