Infant Massage for Congestion and Teething                        $22

Where:            Hanna Learning Centre

When:              Wednesday, March 24

Time:              6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.                                   

Instructor:  Cori Amundrud, Certified Infant Massage Teacher

     Trained through the Liddle Kidz Foundation

Registration Deadline:  March 17

 

Come and learn nurturing touch that may help sooth your baby during times of nasal congestion that may be caused by colds, flu or allergies. Parents and caregivers will also learn a soothing massage routine unique for teething. Grandparents and dads may also benefit from learning the massage techniques. Participants do not need to have a baby to learn as a doll or stuffed animal can also be used for the classes. Bring a blanket, pillow and baby’s usual necessities. Organic olive oil will be provided for the massage. Handouts and a snack will also be supplied.

 

Please note: Parents or caregivers should not attend if your child is not feeling well, has a temperature or has had an immunization less than 48 hours before the class. If a registered adult has sick child on the day of the session, the parent or caregiver is still welcome to attend to learn the massage techniques on a doll or stuffed animal.

Positive Parenting Series                                       $10 for 3 sessions

When:  Thursdays, March 11, 18 and 25, 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Where: Hanna Learning Centre Upstairs Meeting Room
 

The Power of Positive Parenting

  • Introduces parents to the benefits of the five core principles of positive parenting.
  • Provides a chance for participants to meet other parents and to ask questions.

Raising Confident, Competent Children

  • Introduces parents to the six key building blocks children need to do well in life. These skills include showing respect, being cooperative, being considerate of others, becoming independent, having healthy self esteem, and becoming a good problem solver.

Raising Resilient Children

  • Introduces parents to how they can help their children deal more effectively with emotions or feelings. 
  • Covers helping children recognize, accept and express their feelings
  • Shows how to develop coping skills, and deal with upsetting or
    stressful life events.

 

Kids Spell Love T-I-M-E                             No Charge (Supper provided)

When:     Friday, March 12
Where:    Hanna Learning Centre
               Upstairs Boardroom
Time:      6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Gordon Colledge will talk to parents about family communications, the five love languages of children and esteem building in children (positive parenting in a negative world).
